Who Are We?
Marin YEP is a youth-led nonprofit project that began during our time at San Rafael High School. We are sponsored by HeadsUp, the public education foundation for San Rafael City Schools. With members from across San Rafael High School, Marin Catholic, and Branson, our goal is to give all younger students the transformative academic experiences they deserve.
Primarily, our program seeks to fully fund and plan annual field trips at Title-I elementary schools—the Oakland Zoo is our most popular trip at Bahia Vista.
In addition to this, our volunteers assist Title-I teachers within the classrooms: aiding student instruction, acting as pseudo-big brother systems, and taking down/moving classrooms at the end of school years. With a total of over 500 total volunteer hours within Title-I elementary schools, Marin YEP seeks to help underfunded schooling staff.
If you are a student interested in contributing/aiding this program (chaperoning trips, organizing fundraising, etc.) or even just in need of some community service hours, please reach out to either our socials or the following email: myepcontact@gmail.com. All help is greatly appreciated.
We began as and through the SR Interact Club!
